Our Early Years Team:

Pre-school Team Leader:

Zoe Wright - Early Years & Leadership Foundation Degree, Level 1 Forest School's, Accredited SEN training.

Zoe became a member of our team on the 9th December 2009. Zoe was promoted to Team Leader in July 2014.

I first became involved with the pre-school when I joined the committee as Treasurer in 2007. After my daughter left, I joined the staff as pre-school assistant and began my training, working my way up towards my Foundation degree which I will complete in 2017. Above all, I love being outside and getting muddy (there's nothing better than a good mud pie!), something I hope to continue to explore with Forest School studies.

Named Deputy:

Rosie Gooderham - Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for the children and Young People's Workforce Early Years (Advanced Practice)

Rosie became a member of our team on the 6th September 2011, she originally joined us as an apprentice.

Hello I'm Rosie; I've been working at pre-school since 2011 where I started as an apprentice working towards my level 3 qualification. I'm now the named deputy and am currently studying for my level 5 diploma. I love baking, I am very creative and a bit of a shopaholic. My favourite colour is blue and I have 6 cats!

Zoe & Rosie are our designated members of staff who liaise with child protection agencies and they are also the Special Educational Needs, Equal Opportunities & Positive Approach to Behaviour Coordinators.

They are responsible for supporting the delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage throughout our pre-school.

Pre-School Assistant:

Helen Potter - NVQ 2 teaching Assistants, NVQ 3 Child Care, Learning & Development. Helen joined our pre-school team on the 29th July 2009.

Hello I'm Helen; I have been working at the pre-school since 2009 where I started in the after school club, which lead to my current position in the pre-school. I have two grown daughters, one who is now about to start university. My youngest daughter leaves school this year; she is involved with gymnastics and street dancing, so I spend most of my free time being mum's taxi! When my children were younger they purchased two pet tortoises, which has lead us to helping to re-home tortoises, we now have 7. My favourite colour is red.

Pre-School Assistant:

Anna Mallinson - Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Practitioner (Early Years Educator).

Anna became a member of our team on 14th April 2015.

I have been a member of the pre-school team since October 2010, when I joined as a committee member and quickly took over the Treasurers role. I made many friends on the committee but stepped down after retraining to gain my Level 3 EYE qualification. I finally joined the team in a professional capacity in March 2014. I am immensely proud of our Pre-school and chose to send all 4 of my children to the setting, confident that they would receive outstanding early year's education. I believe having fun is the key to learning. My favourite colour is purple and my favourite food is Gruffalo Crumble!

Pre-School Assistant:

Lou Johnston - NVQ 2 in Early Years

Lou started her apprentice with us on the 8th September 2014.

Hi I'm Lou; I joined pre-school in September 2014 as an apprentice. I then qualified as a level 2 in 2016; I am currently working towards my level 3. I really enjoy taking the children out into the garden for outdoor learning. In my spare time I ride my horse and enjoy long walks. My favourite story is 'We're going on a bear hunt'.

Helen, Lou and Anna M are our designated Health & Safety Coordinators within the setting.

Pre-School Assistant:

Anna Norton -CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care & Education. Accredited SEN training. .

Anna became a member of our team on 14th April 2015.

Hello I'm Anna; I'm a wife and mother of three beautiful children, who all attended Yaxley & Mellis Pre-School and now attend Mellis Primary School. I became qualified in Child Care in 2007, not long after this I had my first child and started my family. I worked mainly in retail in between. I couldn't wait for my chance to get back into child care when my children got older. Now I work in this amazing setting with great staff and community members and I love being back in the foundation stage. My favourite part of this job is encouraging and helping children to open their minds and imagination, seeing where they take it, as they have amazing minds. Also to help them make good foundations for life and school life ahead.
